Product Care

General Leather Care

To keep your leather goods in top condition, avoid prolonged exposure to water, sunlight, or extreme weather, and try not to overload your wallet or bag. This can cause stretching and accelerated wear.

Leather is a natural material, so each piece has its own character. Small marks, slight variations in colour, or shifts in texture are normal. We select the best hides we can, but variations are part of what makes leather beautiful. Some pieces will develop markings or change colour more readily than others over time.

Most of our pieces are made with chrome-tanned leather; some are made with vegetable-tanned leather. Each requires slightly different care.

Chrome-Tanned Leather

Our chrome-tanned leather has a durable, water-resistant finish and doesn't require regular conditioning. To maximize water resistance, you can apply a leather wax.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

Vegetable-tanned leather is known for its strength and the way it develops a beautiful patina, softening and darkening with use. Because it's undyed, natural vegetable-tanned leather is prone to absorbing oil, water, and sun exposure—marks that add character but are worth protecting against.

We recommend applying a high-quality leather conditioner every 6–12 months, ideally one formulated for vegetable-tanned leather. With proper care, your piece will age beautifully for years.

Hardware

All hardware is solid brass, with stainless steel rings used on our key tags. Avoid overloading key rings, as this can warp the hardware.
